#3 Playa Cambutal
So close, yet so far. On the other side of the Azuero peninsula from us is another incredibly beautiful place in Panama. On the map it's a hot minute away from us as the bird flies but about a 4 hr drive as a human. Thankfully, the Cerro Hoyas and all her mountainous beauty separates us for now.
Perhaps one day (Panama time), there will be a road that connects us but in the meantime, the remoteness of this location remains a surfers secret and a nature lovers destination. If you are the kind of traveler looking for remote, beautiful, and uncrowded places, Cambutal, Panama will certainly fit the bill.
The backdrop of great surf, deep sea fishing, tree covered mountains, and rugged terrain to explore creates a feast for the eyes and endless adventure opportunities that will have you begging to go to bed early so you can get up and charge again the following day. So, if you are dreaming of a warm water surf safari, Panama is quite obviously the place for you and your family/friends. In Cambutal, there are several consistent year-round surf breaks for beginners to experts.
Years ago when Panama was our dream, and our goal in life, I was working in East Hampton, NY at Ralph Lauren. It was there that I met a couple in my store that said their children owned a hotel in Panama and they were making a trip to visit them. However, it wasn't until about 5 years later that we met that young couple while serving them tasty burritos in our restaurant.
Small world full of great people. Haley and Albeiro along with their 3 radical boys have created a beautiful place at the end of the road for you to store your board, feast on your fresh catch, and
and for your body to crash in that comfy bed at the end of your adventurous day. Whether you are traveling as a family, with your greatest friends, or just looking for a peaceful place to relax, they have created one of our most favorite places in Panama and Ailyn their Manager, is there waiting to take great care of you!
We hope that life is amazeballs for you and as always, we'd love to hear from you. So, go ahead and send us a message even just to say hello.
