We had an exciting week being completely full with guests, a whole bunch of kids and celebrating our 2 year anniversary sharing this magical place with guests from all over the world. We have met so many fascinating people, made great new friends, and have established a beautiful little Eco Resort in the remote jungles of Panama that we are very proud of and love sharing it.
What our guests have enjoyed the most have been nature, monkeys, and the seclusion from crowds. When it comes to crowds the beautiful bare throated tiger heron (pictured above) feels the same way we all do these days; they likeflying solo - not really interested in hanging out with others. Thankfully for us, the estuary in front provides a rich and plentiful food source and habitat for them.
For birders and photographers, this bird is a dream to photograph. They stand motionless for long periods of time while hunting for fish, crabs, frogs, and flies making it easy to capture a beautiful image and, if you're patient like them, watching them slay a fish is pretty awesome.
One of our guests this past week is a veterinarian who rehabilitates wildlife here in Panama. We are thankful that she recently had an abandoned little baby squirrel brought to her who she nursed to health and has now entrusted in us to continue providing her a loving life. Her name is "Oodie," she is a Variegated Squirrel and she is totally adorable. While we would love to see her grow big and strong and return to the wild, I imagine it will be heart-breaking to let her go one day as we have fallen in love with her. Oodie and all of us are l looking forward to your visit here soon. Being open with children running around again gives us the reassurance that all will be OK again soon. With our location being so small and everything outdoors, we have a safe place for you, way off the beaten path to visit and take a break from the crazy world. We are sending you so much love from Panama and would love to hear back from you if you have a moment.
