Inspiring, amazing, heartfelt and memorable are just a few of the feelings that come to mind as I reflect on our experience with Melissa and Jean as they took us on a tour of their newly constructed soap making laboratory with us called Amazilia.
We are feeling so honored to have been the first guests to tour their new, personally constructed, full of love and passion goats milk soap laboratory. Don't goat me wrong, this is far from a new concept for these two.
Like any artist, they have been ceaselessly hard at work to bring their passion and life's work to fruition. In 2012, Jean and
Melissa studied and wrote their thesis about goats milk soap together.
It was then they discovered what the rest of their lives would become; a love for each other, their animals, artisan skills, and a desire to share their beautifully hand-crafted soaps and shampoos with the world.
After completing their studies, they set out to find just the right sourcing for fresh, quality goats milk where the goats were raised with love knowing that would be the primary ingredient used in their soaps.
This boots on the ground research is what planted the seed that would become their own farm one day. Now, over 10 years
later, they have a herd of 30 goats, a farm of over 4 hectares (almost 10 acres), and a laboratory built just the way they want it to fulfill their global soap and shampoo making business.
We are very thankful for their tireless efforts so that we can provide our guests with their daily aromatherapy session in their rooms and now in person as one of our adventure/cultural tours.
At Amazilia we are treated to a tour of the lab, the farm, meet and kiss the beautiful goats, and end it with a tasting of the milk, fine hand crafted cheeses, and coffee all the while getting to know the story of Melissa and Jean as they ooze passion and love for what they do.
So << Test First Name >>, keep this in mind as another way to enjoy this magical place and take a piece home with you too.
